Save or Splurge: Sunnies for Summer

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

Summer is coming and it’s making me want to add more shades to my collection! For today’s post, I’ve rounded up my favorites for the season, expensive or a bargain! I personally like to splurge on sunglasses because I don’t have many. But, Nordstrom’s Bp line has some great shades this year for only $12, so I’m definitely gonna have to pick up a pair. Happy shopping!

Chambray Layering

Monday, March 27, 2017

I always have chambray shirts on repeat during the spring, they are so easy for layering. I’m a huge fan of layering during this time of year because the weather is so unpredictable here in New England, if it get’s too hot you can just take off the first layer! I have been eyeing these Sam Edelman booties since they came out and I finally made the purchase when I noticed they went on sale recently! I’m obsessed with them but they are a little snug so I wish I went up a size in them. Other than that, they are pretty comfy so far!

How was everyone’s weekend? I came back from Montreal on Saturday from a school trip, we studied the differences between American retail stores and French retail stores. It was a lot of fun and I absolutely loved the stores there!

Fitness Friday

Friday, March 24, 2017

Happy Friday everyone! Summer is coming and it’s almost time to start wearing bikinis! In preparation, I thought I would share with you guys my latest fitness favorites for today’s post. In a previous post, I shared with you guys how my routine has changed since being in college, you can read that here

I recently started wearing my Fitbit again and it’s so much fun! It always gives me that extra push to want to hit my steps and go a longer route. I have an older Fitbit (fitbit flex) so it only tells me my daily steps, calories, miles, and active minutes. But that’s all I really need it for anyways. Because I live on campus I do a lot of walking when I’m going to my classes, so on average I hit about 12,000 steps a day. I also always include 30 minutes of some cardio everyday in addition to weight lifting. I’m definitely not somebody who loves running, so you’ll never see me spending the whole 30 minutes doing that! Some of my favorites are inclined fast walking, HIIT intervals of sprinting/jogging/walking, and the arc trainer.

As for weight lifting, Monday through Friday I switch off between upper and lower body. For upper, I do shoulders and back one day and biceps and triceps the next. Every lower body day I usually have a certain focus, but incorporate my quads, glutes, and calves. I always lift before my 30 min of cardio and usually spend about 35 minutes lifting. I always finish off with a quick ab circuit as well! Lately, I’ve been doing a full body circuit on Saturdays because I’m usually have more time than weekdays. I’ve tried lots of different ways of organizing my days for lifting, and so far this has been most effective. I am in no way a fitness expert, but this is just what has worked for me!

When I’m home from school, I always try to hit one of my favorite fitness classes whenever I can. I’ve mentioned before how I’ve tried barre, spin, Crossfit, and hot yoga and I truly love them all! I tried a spin class this week at a new local studio and it was a lot different than what I was used to. My next goal is to try kickboxing soon, I’ve heard great things!

The Wedges You Need for Spring

Monday, March 20, 2017

Alright ladies I’m sure you’ve seen these shoes just about everywhere. But they are seriously so good! So good that I just ordered my second pair, lol. I was in need of a pair of black summer shoes so I went with that color for my first pair and I’m so in love! I just ordered these ones in saddle. These shoes come in three different styles and are super comfortable. There also a great dupe for the Chloe ones! I’m DYING to get my hands on these ones in tan suede but I just have too many shoes in this color ha!

I’m also loving this off the shoulder shirt I recently got from Forever 21. I kind of doubted Forever 21 for a long time because of the quality and how overwhelming the stores are, but their online exclusives are great! It comes in white as well and I’m super close to buying that color too :)

What I’ve Ordered for Spring

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

I’ve said it previous posts that I have spring fever like crazy! We just got another snow storm yesterday here in Boston and it’s really getting old. This week is my spring break and it does not feel like spring! I don’t have much planned for spring break besides working as much as I can and online shopping for spring. I wanted to share with you guys in today’s post of what I have bought so far. I would love to know what trends you guys are loving this spring! Comment below.

Kendall & Kylie one shoulder floral top: I absolutely love when a new Kendall & Kylie line comes out at Pac Sun. This top is from their new spring line and I’ve been eyeing it ever since they released it! Pac Sun often has really good deals online such as 20% off for members or free shipping. This weekend they happened to have both (!!) so I immediately put this shirt in my cart. I also had a $5 rewards coupon so this shirt only ended up costing me $17! I plan on pairing it with white jeans and some cute wedges possibly for Easter. This top also comes in black if you’re not crazy about the floral pattern.

Forever 21 off the shoulder chambray dress: The off the shoulder is HUGE this spring and I can’t get enough of it, and I’m sure you can’t either! Forever 21 has some really awesome off the shoulder pieces. I love chambray for spring so when I saw this off the shoulder number I had to have it. Plus I love the sleeve details!!

Forever 21 Contemporary striped dress: Forever 21 at it again with the off the shoulder dress! I can’t wait to get this one in and wear it with my new Marc Fisher wedges. Also under $20! It also comes in a cute pink color.

BP baseball cap: I’m OBSESSED with the “dad hat” trend. I dye my hair brown and I try to wash it only every other day to keep the color from fading, so dry shampoo and hats are my best friends. I get a lot of use out of my black baseball cap, and when I saw this blush color hat at Nordstrom’s I knew I needed to buy it. It’s a perfect color for spring and can see myself pairing it with a basic tee and ripped skinnies to wear to class! The price point is pretty nice too considering it’s only $15 :) I’m very tempted to buy the baby blue color of this hat as well!

Lira reversible bikini top: I haven’t had the best of luck with bathing suit shopping this year. I am very picky about how they look and am hoping this one works well! I love black bikini tops because I already own a couple pairs of black bottoms so I don’t have to buy the bottoms it comes with. The floral pattern on the reverse side is great too! I’m all about the two bathing suit in one deal.

Marc Fisher perforated wedges: I just got these in and I am in love. I had to see what the rave was all about, so I ordered a black pair because I could use a pair for the summer. I got the perforated ones that attach, but I also love these ones and am tempted to buy the tan/saddle color. Can’t wait to get some use out of them!

Winter Uniform

Monday, March 13, 2017

Fur vests have always been a staple for me in the winter. When I don’t know what to wear, I always add one over a basic shirt and I’m good to go! Leather leggings have also been a hit this winter, and the ones I’m wearing are on sale for under $20!

How was everyone’s weekend? I’m home for the week because of spring break so I plan on taking lots of outfit pics! I went to Nordstrom this weekend for the first time in a while (there’s no Nordstrom stores in NH where I go to school, so I rely on online shopping) and I died when I saw that my closest store was done over, it looks so good! There is a dressing room in each section of the store so that was nice as well. I ended up purchasing a couple things that you’ll see in my next post!

Countdown to Summer: Swimwear

Friday, March 10, 2017

Happy Friday! Today is officially the start of my spring break. While I am not traveling to anywhere warm (tear...) I have been eyeing some swim wear for this upcoming season! One pieces are soo trendy this year and it’s definitely time I try this trend out. I love the bikinis that wrap at the top, they’re super flattering! Victoria’s Secret was always my go-to for bikinis and I was very sad to hear that they weren’t making swimwear anymore. Nordstrom, Missguided, Pacsun, and Asos have been my faves for swim this year! Oh, and all the pieces I picked are under $100, happy shopping!

What to do in Vegas

Wednesday, March 8, 2017

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve done a travel post, so I thought I would do one on my last vacation. Although it was kind of a while ago (June 2016), Vegas has always been one of my favorite places to travel, even for my age! Last summer was my 4th time going to Vegas and each time I see more and more that I love about it. What’s great about Vegas is that they are always expanding and adding something new. For today’s post, I’ll share what I did my last time in Vegas!

We stayed at the Mirage hotel and it was great. I love the Mirage because of the location, it’s right in the middle of everything and doesn’t require a far walk. In past years, I stayed at New York New York and Mandalay Bay, and Mirage has been my favorite. While Mandalay Bay is very nice, it’s farthest from most hotels on the trip and going pretty much anyways requires a bit of a trip. The Mirage has a huge pool that is great for lounging, but gets crowded fast. Since I went in June, it was over 100 degrees every day and almost unbearable to stay in the heat for too long! So typically we only stayed at the pool for no longer than an hour.

Food is one of my favorite parts about Vegas, besides the shopping! The first night we went off the strip and ate at a tapas restaurant called Firefly. It was awesome and we ordered lots of different things since they are small portions to try. Another night we ate at Lavo, which is located in the Venetian. I remember the fried calamari being amazing! A great place for lunch is Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar located outside The LINQ. My favorite place we went for food while staying in Vegas was Buddy V’s Ristorante. I got a flat bread pizza and it was soooo good! They also have a Carlos Bakery across from Buddy V’s.

For shopping, you can pretty much go anywhere and it’s hard to miss! The Forum Shops in Caesars Palace literally goes on forever and also has a great gelato stand. The shopping is one of my favorite parts of Vegas because it’s nice to go into all the designer shops and dream! I also love the Grand Canal Shoppes in the Venetian, and the Fashion Show Mall near the Wynn Hotel has just about every store imaginable.

As for things to do, the list is endless. There is truly something for everyone! One of my favorite things I did in one of my stays in Vegas was go to the Britney Spears show in the Planet Hollywood hotel. She still does shows there and it was amazing! I’m a huge Britney fan, lol. There are so many different shows and I highly suggest going to one. I have also been to a couple of Cirque Du Soleil shows and they are definitely a must.

Pretty Peplum

Monday, March 6, 2017

BP striped peplum top (sold out online, similar here and here) // Articles of Society black ripped jeans // similar riding boots // Tory Burch Gemini tote // The Styled Collection bracelet // Baublebar link bracelet // Kate Spade watch // Kendra Scott necklace // Burberry aviators

This peplum top is great for the transition into spring. I wore it pretty simple in this post, but you could also style it under a cardigan and with some spring wedges! It will be great for this upcoming season. I believe it is still in stores at Nordstrom, but I couldn’t find it online :(. Make it a great week!

Trending for Spring

Friday, March 3, 2017

Finally, the weekend! For today’s post, I’m sharing my favorite trend for the spring/summer: blue and white! I love a good pinstripe top or dress, there so simple and cute! I just love all these pieces and most of them are at under $100, so get them while you can! All of these items would be great for your Spring Break vacation or Easter outfit!

Off the Shoulder Top

Wednesday, March 1, 2017

off the shoulder top // jeans // Nordstrom BP booties (old) similar) // Tory Burch ‘Gemini’ Tote // Kate Spade watch // The Styled Collection bracelet // Baublebar link bracelet // Kendra Scott necklace

Happy March! It has taken me a while to get in to the “off the shoulder” trend. At first, I felt it uncomfortable because I was always fixing my shirt and pulling me down, but I love how this shirt has the ties on the end of the sleeves. This color is great for the transition to spring, since it can still be worn right now with the long sleeves.

Other off the shoulder items I’m loving:
