What to Wear to a Country Concert

Friday, May 29, 2015

Summer's in season, as is country music. This Saturday, I'm going to the Sam Hunt, Lady Antebellum, and Hunter Hayes concert. I'm so excited and the weather is supposed to be super nice! Here are some ideas on what to wear to a country concert:

You can never go wrong with denim! High wasted shorts and a plain tank-top, crop top, or muscle shirt is an easy outfit for this type of concert. To accesorize, you can add a bandana or cowboy boots.

White & eye-let lace clothing is also perfect for a country concert. It's very summery and girly. Sundresses are great because they look fancy but feel effortless. You can't go wrong with a touch of plaid to your outfit either! Throw a plaid shirt unbuttoned over a white tank top and shorts and you're good to go.

Prom 2015

Friday, May 22, 2015

Hey everyone! As i mentioned in my last posts about prom, I had two upcoming proms this year. I had my junior prom and was brought to another prom. Both were so much fun! The best part about it is picking out a dress and getting dressed up. Also I loved seeing all my friends dressed up and all the different beautiful dresses. You can never go wrong with borrowing a dress (saves you a lot of money and stress!), so I borrowed one for the prom I was brought to. For my prom, I bought my honeydew halter dress at The Ultimate.

I showed my hairdresser the picture above for how I wanted my hair to come out for prom. It came out almost exactly like the picture and I was very happy with it!

Prom was a blast! If you have any pictures from your guys' prom, I would love to see! Tag @preppyandposhblog on Instagram :)

Preparing for Prom: The Little Things

Thursday, May 7, 2015

For my final prom post, I wanted to share a checklist that I have found very useful for prom or any formal event! There are a couple things to remember to do the week of prom to prepare.

A week or two before I like to start whitening my teeth every once in a while. I like to use the One Hour Express strips for this because they work magic after only one use! Especially for me, I like to start taking care of my skin prior to prom. I tend to breakout a lot, so I make sure I am drinking a lot of water and steering clear of french fries and chocolate. Always remember to wash off your makeup and wash your face! The week of prom, I recommend dong a face mask to detox. A favorite of mine is InstaNatural's Dead Sea Mud Mask, which I have mentioned in a previous post! In addition to taking care of your skin, figure out what you are doing for tanning. You have the options of going tanning in a booth, spray tanning, or using a self tanner lotion. A favorite of mine is Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer. It comes in different tones and is effective if using it everyday one or two weeks before the occasion, but remember to rub it in all the way to avoid streaky tan lines.

Whether you're getting your hair done or doing it yourself, remember to wear a sweatshirt or button down shirt (especially if you're getting an up-do!). This is to avoid pulling a t-shirt over your head and ruining your new 'do. If you're getting your hair done, look on Pinterest or prom magazines for a couple hair ideas to show whoever is doing it to make sure you like your hair. In my previous post, I shared a few of my favorite prom hairstyles here.

Set your plans with your friends! Make sure your all on the same page for the pre-prom and post-prom events so there's no worry the day of prom. The day before prom, prepare everything you need for the next day: your purse, a change of clothes, and plenty of room on your phone to take pictures! Something that I have found very helpful to bring to prom is double sided body tape, it's seriously a lifesaver for prom dresses! And remember to have fun :)

Preparing for Prom: Makeup

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

Hi everyone! I am back again to show you another way to prepare for prom. Whether you are getting your makeup done or doing it yourself, here are some ideas!

Makeup Tips for Prom

* Color your entire lip with a lip liner to prevent bleeding and make your lipstick last longer
*If putting on fake lashes, hold them with a pair of tweezers and put them in place between your real lashes for the best results, it can be tricky!
*Before putting on eyeshadow, prime your eyes with an eyeshadow primer so it lasts all night
*Take care of your skin prior to prom to prevent any breakouts or a streaky tan

Create Intense Color with Evian Facial Spray

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

Recently, I received Evian's facial spray to use to purify your skin and give your face a healthy look. I had heard great reviews before receiving it, so I wasn't surprised with how great it was! At first, I thought of the facial spray only to use to refresh your makeup throughout the day, but it's also helpful for applying makeup! Spraying Evian's facial spray on your eye shadow brushes or foundation brushes before applying makeup intensifies the color without giving a chalky look; and gives you an airbrushed look on your face by eliminating unwanted foundation lines. It can also be used as a setting spray by applying it after your makeup is already on for a natural look.

Left picture is foundation/eyeshadow without Evian facial spray, right is with spraying brushes with Evian facial spray prior to putting on foundation/eyeshadow

Throughout the day, I am always finding my makeup looks dull after hours of putting it on (especially after school)! Evian facial spray helps reviving your makeup and refreshes the color. Another great part is that it can be easily stored to bring wherever you go throughout the day, especially work or school.

There  are so many other ways to use Evian facial spray, which can be found on their website here. One of my favorites is using it as a post makeup cleanser!

Preparing for Prom: Hairstyles

Prom season is upon us! Especially for girls, this is a very stressful process: getting a dress, a date, making appointments, it's overwhelming! I'm currently going through this process myself. I am attending two proms this year, one this weekend and then my prom the week after.   Figuring out how to wear your hair can be tough, so I hope these ideas help! Stay tuned for more prom posts.

Spring Favorites

Sunday, May 3, 2015

If I haven't said it enough on my blog I'll say it again... I am sooo ready for spring clothing! It is my favorite season to dress for especially because of all the bright colors. One blogger I can't stop obsessing over is McKenna Bleu and her eye for color. These are some of my spring favorites. Especially adoring this peplum dress!
