100 Happy Days: Social Media Challenge

Wednesday, September 24, 2014

Hi everyone,

Recently I have taken part in the social media challenge called 100 Happy Days. This is a challenge to see if you can be happy for 100 days in a row by posting a picture everyday for 100 days of what made you happy that day. I am 53 days in, and so far I have honestly seen a difference on how I look for the things in my daily life that make me happy. I live a pretty busy schedule, and sometimes it's hard to remember all the great things you have around you that make you so happy. You may be worried about people who follow you getting annoyed that you clog up their whole feed by posting a picture everyday, but the 100 happy days challenge is supposed to be for you, not anybody else.  And, at the end of your completed challenge, you can get a book of all you 100 happy moments! If you're interested, you can look more into it at 100happydays.com. Here are some of my "100 happy days":

Homecoming Looks for Under $70!

Sunday, September 21, 2014

Homecoming for high schools are right around the corner. My school is having our first ever homecoming dance in late October! Homecoming themes can vary at every school. Our school hasn't decided on a theme yet, but most schools go with semi-formal. Here are four semi-formal homecoming looks you can sport for your dance!

*If you're looking for a cheap, one-use dress for this occasion, I recommend checking out Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, and Francesca's!

Look #1: LBD

Caged Bodycon Dress: Forever 21 $24.90
Ankle Cuff Pumps: Charlotte Russe $28.99

A black and white outfit is good for almost any semi-formal event. This outfit would go great with a pair of earring studs you already have and then you're good to go! If you want, you could pair this outfit with a bold lip.

Look #2: Peplum

Peplum V-Neck Dress: Charlotte Russe $29.99 (now 20% off online!)
Nude Heels: Charlotte Russe $32.99

I love peplum dresses for semi-formal events, and this is an outfit I will most likely be wearing to my own dance. The color is great and can be dressed up with tons of jewelry.

Look #3: Colorblock

Halter Skater Dress: Charlotte Russe $34.99
Strappy Sandal Heels: Forever 21 $29.80

I love the color block look in this dress, and pairing it with some strappy heels makes the outfit look not so plain without overdoing it. This look could be paired with some of your favorite simple everyday jewelry or some statement earrings.

Look #4: Floral

Halter Printed Dress: Nordstrom BP (brand: dee elle) $46
Black Heels: Forever 21 $22.80

This would be the perfect look if your Homecoming Dance is a bit more casual. This dress could definitely be worn at more than one occasion and could be dressed down to wear to school or dressed up to wear to an event like a dance. I love how the model has the dressed paired with a top knot!

Hope this post helps you pick out your Homecoming attire and Happy Homecoming! :)
